Default CEM repair question xc70 2006

is it a really bad idea to reflow my own CEM? it is my understanding that is what xemodex would do if i sent it into them. I have repaired other circuit boards this way, so im not just stabbing in the dark with this sort of thing. Just wondering if that is just like a bat **** bad idea or not. haha. thanks in advance

You might want to send it to xemodex and have them clone it first - that way if you break it - you won't have to buy a new one from a dealer and have them program it for a bunch more money.

What problem are you trying to fix?

most importantly, my front windshield wipers dont work at all. *power system service urgent" on the dash, but the alternator is charging...
radio doesnt work, but back up sensors beeps do.
when i go in reverse, my rear windshield wipers turn on

i have removed the CEM and there is visible corrosion on the connectors, potentially probably invisible corrosion on the CEM itself. (none visible to the eye).
