The driver's door multiswitch on my 2008 V70 D5 SE G (MY08) 5DR Auto 2400cc diesel 136KW is malfunctioning. The central locking switch operates correctly but the rest (windows controls, child lock and rear view mirrors) are non-functioning. Also, the right rear passenger door intermittently remains in the locked position.

I can buy a replacement switch unit in my local dealers but they tell me that when I fit it I will still have to get it programmed by the Volvo dealer.

Is this information correct? Does the switch have to be programmed in this manner?
