Help big time please - ignition problems
Seriously, am I in big trouble? For several months the key that you push intothe key slot would grumble and grind - sometimes it would hold the key in andsometimes it would spit it out. I had toresort to holding the key in while simultaneously pushing the start button. I used the car earlier today by using this procedure. Later in the day I went to move the car andput the key in - this time it took the key but the car wouldn't start and itwould not release the key. The errormessage I received was to put the shifter in park in order to remove the key orstart the car. It was already inpark. My immediate question is thereanything I can do to get the car to start and put it in drive. The bigger question is does the entiredashboard have to be taken apart in order to replace faulty ignitionparts? Does anybody have a ballpark ideaas to what this would cost?
