i have a 2001 xc70 and was wondering if anyone knows if i can replace my old key and remote to a new style flip out key, i asked at the dealer but he was not sure. anyone know? thanks all

 

You cannot. The remote's are different. And not just by looks. The techs use a code printed on the package of the remote to download the new remote. The two remotes have different codes. One remote is like a 17 digit code and the other is a series of two 8 or 9 digit codes. The computer wont let them put the new style remote into the car because it wont recognize the code to finish the download.
