2001 XC70 65,000 mi.
30 minutes after shutdown, the interior fan blower powers up and blows into the cabin???? With the keys in hand, doors locked,
5 minutes later...shuts off on its own...
This has happened twice within 7 days.

Yep, does it on my wife's 01 XC70 too. Freaked he r out the first time it did it. I still remember her coming into the house saying her new car was "possessed"

 

You have to remember that there is a turbo charger, and they get very hot, this is a protective measure to keep things from overheating or blowing up.

 

my 04 xc70 ac blower keeps running when i shut the car off and it is draining my battery dead.

 

Got back to my car, heard the fan running on full blast, unlocked the door and it stopped right then even before I get to sit in the car... V70XC 2002

here's the reason ...I shut off the car as the fan (AC) was on full blast.

ever since that incident I alway turn off the fan (AC/Heather) before shutting the car off. I have not experienced that any more.

 

Following, I started a thread on this myself, but I think my CCM might be going, not sure. I turn the fan off, but that shouldn't happen anyway...
