No Drive When Very Cold
Hi
Mine is a 2006 XC70 with 178K miles. I have owned since 145K and performed an ATF fluid drain/replace myself at 150K with the proper spec ATF (Mobil JWS 3309). All is good - transmission performs flawlessly. But, have noticed only when the car is parked outside all night in temps below 25*F (like last night here in CT) the car has no forward drive. For the first 1/2 miles the engine will run at 2000 RPM while the car creeps along our street at 5mph. After that, all is fine. BTW, reverse works fine.
I am hoping this is no more than low ATF level - there's a reasonable chance I messed the level when I did the drain/replace. And, I understand ATF is very temp sensitive (i.e. it expands or contracts a lot with temp).
Anyone have experience with this or with low ATF levels? I'll try to check the level at the weekend
