Remove shifter stop 2006 XC70
I'm trying to replace the rocker arm in my shifter after it broke. This is the issue that causes the shifter to swing freely in between the D and Manual on the Geartronics. I've gotten the trim plate off and removed the shifter **** and boot. I'm stopped and stumped at removing the shifter stop plate (see photo). I see that the u-shaped tabs are part of the underlying frame and suspect that the top should pop off, but I can't get it free. I've tried spreading the tabs with small screwdrivers, while pushing and pulling, but nothing budges. I've lubed the points penetrating oil, but nothing budges. I hate to take it to the shop for a $10 part, but I'm at my wit's end. See attached pic, which I borrowed from a similar thread with no answer. Does it come up, back, out or what?
