2007 XC 70 Hu850 head unit.

- Was acting weird - no volume control, would come on full blast, etc...Radio reception was fine and always had been.
- Replaced with unit from junkyard. Followed the procedure, disconnected battery, etc.
- Worked fine BUT
- Very poor radio reception - AM better than FM?.... Driving me crazy!

- Ideas would be very much appreciated.

OK - so I took out this radio. Installed the old one (with the issues) and it had normal reception............... So will try another radio.

 

I saw a service on ebay that rebuilds HU850s for $119.... may be worth a look.

 

that rebuild is ONLY for the CD player..... a real rebuild is 350-400 min....

 

It was the radio.....

Junkyard unit had a Skynerd CD in it - GTG ;-)
