Default XC70 needs park assist service

Hi there. I have a 2006 Volvo xc70. Within the last few days, the park assist service light came on in my car. I would like to be able to service this myself but I need some clear cut directions how to. If someone could let me know, that would be great

I'm having the same issue with my 2005 xc70. When it's been raining or is especially humid the park assist does not work, but then if the car is exposed to direct sunlight for a while it starts working again. Where could water be getting in and what part of the park assist system could be affected by moisture?

Thanks!

Default I posted something similar this winter...

I posted a similar question this winter (2013) and I didn't get any assistance. I have the car into the dealer today and they are going to diagnose the problem and hopefully fix it. I am tired of repressing the error message.

I'll let you know what they fix.

Default Parts ordered...TBD

Alan Byer in Syracuse is going to replace the Left Front and Left Rear sensors (2) for $340... Parts and labor included.

These guys have been very good for me and the car.

Default Park Assist Update

So my Park Assist stopped working again about 2 years ago and I have been pushing the message accept button on the turn signal ever since. This weekend I changed my rear shocks - and the park assist actually worked for 2 days and then stopped working again on Monday. There must be a short or a ground wire not properly working.

More to come.

Default Park assist won't turn on

Does anyone know what the fuse number is for park assist on a 2008 XC70? Or of any other reason why the system won't turn on? Thanks in advance for the help.

4/86 in the rear bank of fuses. It is a 5 amp fuse.
If this car is new to you, then the prior owner may have been fed up with the problems like I have and disabled the system via software.
