Default Bumpin' S80 in progress

Hi all, I have a 2002 S80 and I thought the bass was inadequate. So i had best buy install a 12' Type R Sub woofer and a 500w RMS Alpine M500 Amp. Now after having it for a week i do not like the fact that i cant control my sub woofer because i have a stock Volvo Hu-611 and my amp does not have a remote accessory option. I really am considering an aftermarket head unit but i feel it will make the S80 look ugly ? The subwoofer either is too loud and over powers the speakers or is too soft when i try playing with the bass/treble

I am tottally open to suggestions and comments!

Those guys at bestbuy who install stuff are hack artist...IMO...they do some really weird setups. Some times they dont even hook stuff up properly.
How much are you will to spend fo a Headunit? I would do a Twin-DINwith a7in screen, and do a custom dash insert (which looks stock)to hold it. That way it will not look "ugly".

Here is a link for some options on units http://www.crutchfield.com/g_300/Car...5684&avf=Nbut stick with big companies(Alpine, Kenwood, JVC, Blaupunkt). It doesn't have to be Twin-DIN. It could also be a Signle-DIN flip screen, or even just a plain DIN mount.
Here is an example of what you couldget done at astero shop. http://s426.photobucket.com/albums/p...4095f9b7_b.jpg
Note that it doesn't have be that color. I would do a nicecolor to match your interior.
I would go to a stero shop and see what they have. They can make a custom insert and install the a unit for you, but it might cost a little more.

Form bestbuy's website, I would go with the Pioneer http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1199496560410 It looks like a nice oneand it is a pretty decsent brand. It is over $500, but that is bestbuy for you. I preferAlpine, but that is just me.You can have them install it also, but I am not sure how they would mount it. you can ask them and if They say "it will not fit", go to a professional installer and see what it would cost to have them do it.

But also remember after you install that you will need to go to the Dealer and have software downloaded into the car to make all the systems in the car work normally again.
