Default Power lead for my amp in a 240 Wagon

I've got a 1985 240 wagon, and I'm trying to run the power lead for my amp. However, I'm having trouble finding a spot in the firewall through which I can run the lead. What's the best way to go about doing that?

Look for a Rubber plug already there that you can work with.

If not then you will have to drill one then install a rubber plug with the wire.

There are 2 rubber grommets on either side of the engine bay. I have the same car and I have power going through the one on the passenger side of the car, there are less wires to deal with.

what gauge is the power lead? i ran mine in my 79 244 sedan with the hood release. there was just enough room to run it through with the hood release cable, but it was an 8 gauge wire. like the otheres said, you may need to drill a hole through the fire wall.

Would the idea be the same for a 740?

If you open the hood and look at the firewall on the drivers side. You will see a grommet that has extra holes that are capped off. Trim one and slide the wire in.
