Well for me... I personally feel that pioneer sound system is the best. Because I have used it for last 5 years and its great. Don't just look up for complex technology, try to be simpler as you can to get the maximum output along with Quality.
I can't say on behalf of others, cause every one has its own experience with their choice of brand.

Best thing to do would to go to a stereo shop and listen to some speakers. Make sure if you are going to amplify them, you listen to them amplifed.
