Dex III replacement? For better shifting 85 850 T Auto.
I have a 1995 850 2.3L with turbo and I'd like to change out the fluid. Is there something other than just regular Dexron III that would firm up the shifts and be better for the transaxle? I know in Chevrolet Turbo Hydramatics 350 and 400's people use Ford type "F" to get firmer shifts. Just looking for what would be best if I'm going to change it out anyway. Any suggestions from someone using something else ?
Thanks

Transaxle Fluid Upgrade
I know people like them and the Royal Purple and Mobile 1 are "top dogs" in my book.
Which do you run and why?
Do either give you better shifting? This one just feels rather soft even after the flush but it may be that I'm not familiar to how a normal Volvo shifts as this is my first.
I did go ahead and flush the slop that was in there and used Valvoline Type "F" as a replacement. That stuff was so nasty I wanted to get it out but still would be willing to do it again if someone has a good personal experience with something else that's better for the guts of the transaxle. This one has as many as 255K on it. I just recently purchased it from a single mom who drove it into the ground and am working on getting it back to the way it should look and feel.
