s80 performance parts??
I've been looking for parts that could increase hp and make it louder. My friend suggested a glass pack, and the only thing i could find was an air filter...(o joy) Is there anything else i could get to make it louder and faster? i want my 2001 s80 2.8L to be faster

RE: s80 performance parts??
Well it isn't turboed so unless you want to turbo it your kind of limited to a few items.
EUROSPORTTUNING Products http://www.eurosporttuning.com
1. S80 2.9L 2000 - 2001 ECU Upgrade S80 2.9L 2000 - 2001 ECU Upgrade
Code:VLE-280-075
Price: US$640.00
Quantity in Basket: none
IPD USA Products http://www.ipdusa.com
1. S80 1999-2006 Heico dual outlet sport exhaust system WSH2521802 $1,399.00 35.0000 BUY
VPTuning Products
1. VP-6406 1999-2004 S80 6-cyl Non-turbo/T6 80mm MAF $349.95 (BMC CDA intake kit)
This is what I suggest to you. Get a K&N panel filter or a good non oiled air filter, either will work fine. The stock intake system is the best for our cars by the way.
Next go to a local muffler shop and have a 2.25"-2.5" custom made mandrel bent catback system with a nice Magnaflow muffler.
Then go to EST for the ECU upgrade and or go to Upsolute or SpeedTuning USA and see if they can do an ECU upgrade for you as well.
If you got the money do a custom turbo setup.
-Turbo
-Intercooler
-IC piping
-Vaccum line
Etc... would be needed

I have a 2000 S80 T6 and was thinking about beefing it up any suggestions?

ECU upgrade, IPD/BSR/RICA/EST/Upsolute/SpeedTuning USA
These are my modest idea and suggestions for you.
bigger turbos
custom FMIC
larger injectors
These are my more exspensive high end ideas and suggestions. Also get proper ECU tuning and exhaust if you do these mods. 3" exhaust all the way if you go with bigger turbos.

how much more horse power can i expect with these mods and what am i looking at spending?

3" downpipes mandrel bent to a singal or dual 2.5" mandrel bent catback exhaust with free flowing muffler or mufflers like Magnaflow.
Have this done by a local exhaust shop, I would bet around $1k-1.5k. Because you have two turbos so you need two downpipes and run a singal catback exhaust system.
ECU upgrade, IPD/BSR/RICA/EST/Upsolute/SpeedTuning USA
IPD: $995
BSR: $995 (Sold by EST)
RICA: None available for this car, but call RICA anyways to be sure.
EST: Selling the BSR unit.
Upsolute: $425
SpeedTuning USA: $325
These are my modest idea and suggestions for you.
bigger turbos
Depends on how big you go. Look at Viva Performance for prices on the turbos they sell. Also check out volvomotorsports they sell some too.
custom FMIC
$500+ probably
larger injectors
volvomotorsports sells some bigger injectors for $100 a pop. Viva Performance sells some of Volvos bigger in jectors as a set for like $600 or something like that.

By doing all these upgrades and taking into account what's talking (reliability) about MY 1999-2001, is it worth? I don't think the transmission will resist! I'll keep reading about this.

Secondly your transmission should hold around 300 to possibly 400Hp with no problems. Now I would aire on the side that 400 might be coming close if not too much power for the transmission so I would say stay around the 300Hp range.

RE: s80 performance parts??
i've made a little research. On a GM forum, 4t65e (basically the same model, but not 4t65ev or 4t65ev-gt)was tested for 350whp (410-430bhp), rebuild with reinforced parts. So, 330-350bhp it seemsreasonable. Chip tuning, exhuast and air filter can reach 350hp on a good S80. Or am I wrong?

-Intake I suggest a K&N panel filter and or an EST intake if they make one for the s80 and or try the BMC CDA air intake system.
-Chip tuning. I wouldn't cheap out on this go with a reuptable company like BSR, IPD (TME), RICA.
Also do the mods in that order if you can't do them all at once. On a good s80 T6 you should be into the 300-350 Hp range yes.

Google around using creative search terms like "ECU tune volvo S80 T6", Visit those sites as they will have other bits that may be of interest. In terms of tuning a turbo engine, you should have some goals in mind - ie how much horsepower gain? do you want to keep it reliable and driveable? Can you readily buy 93 octane or is 91 what's generally available? My order of what to invest in: 1) Stage 1 ECU tune 2) larger downpipe 3) larger intercooler 4) better boost hoses/clamps 5) cat back exhaust. Not a fan of cold air intakes etc - most of them actually let in warm air and don't produce any noticeable performance gains. Another thought - after items 1 and 2, I'd move to doing things like sway bars, better shocks (ie Bilstein B6s) 17" rims, better/bigger rotors/pads
