Default P2 Cars

Why are the P2 cars seperated into S60, V70 and S80 forums? All these cars are the same except for body panels and allsuffer the same ailments and require the same repairs. It would make sense to combine '01 to '07 cars into the same forum instead of seperated into S60 V70 and S80?
Thanks,
Lou

Well I'm not a moderator but I'll give you my take on the situation. The S60 is smaller than the S80 and has different engine choices, etc. The V70 is a wagon which is a different body style. I own an S60 so I normally gravitate to that section of the forum first. Not that I don't look at other sub forums (as seen by my posts) but I would rather not have to wade through a bunch of posts about S80's and V70's when I'm looking for specifics for the S60. Just my opinion, with which you are free to agree or disagree.

Yeah to point out what JKS2 said they are seperated for better servicing the forum and our members. Individual sections for each car.

They might have the same problems, whatever. But vehicle specific sections is a better way.

The '01 and up S60 and the '01 and up V70 are the IDENTICAL cars except one is wagon and the other is a sedan. Just like theprevious generation S70 and V70 cars. All parts interchange.
I just post in the S60 forum instead of the V70 even though I own a 2002 V70. I guess if it makes sense then why do it..........sounds like my employer.

They may be close but they are not the exact identical cars. The wheelbase on an 01 S60 is 106.9" while the wheelbase on the V70 is 108.5", a slight difference but a difference none the less. The suspensions are most likely different as wagons will generally have a stiffer rear spring rate than a sedan. I know this is the case in the 850. There are other interior differences also. However, as long as you are getting your questions answered then I guess it doesn't really matter which forum you post in.

Yes I agree with you...but they all have the same problems. Isn't that the reason for this forum? Members asking questions on how to remedy a particular problem with their S60V70S80? They all have the same suspension, transmission, engine, door lock, ETM and electrical problems.
I have yet to see any posts if a door panel will interchange between an S60 and a V70 (they will). Or if a speedometer from a S80 will fit and work in a V70 (they will).
I will stop my ranting and get on with life.
I like this forum.
I have been assimilated......
