Just found this forum and hope to find help here. My Granson has 89 740 wagon. trans slips. thought I would change his filter and fluid. It was brown! is that normal? It has the 14 bolt pan and the dip stick tube was causing a problem. I had a hard time breaking it loose. when I did, it turned ok for awhile then got tight again, real tight, like it was cross threaded, so I stopped. is that a flare fitting or a compression fitting? Also the kick down cable binds. any help would be great. thanks in advance, ron
