1995 volvo 850 turbo pvc problems???
hello I just bought a 95 850 turbo and I believe that the pvc system needs to be replaced I bought the car for 600$ was wondering how much it cost to pay someone to replace it, I have been reading the forums and I think with the right tools I could do it myself but i am on the road and trying to get back home asap. I saw that someone had taken apart the system and cleaned out the oil traps and hoses, was wondering if anyone had any good results with this as I am limited on budget and would be willing to do a temp fix just to get me back to my dog and job. thanks for any and all input

I can't believe that you didn't get any responses yet. I am not familiar with 850s but I will see if I can help a little. If you PCV is clogged up, you still should be able to get back home. The problem will be pressure within the crankcase. If you remove the dipstick or take off the oil filler cap you will feel pressure coming out of the opening. This indicates that you have a clogged PCV system. On the 240 there is a flame trap that can be cleaned out. On an 850, I don't know. But the car should still run OK.
Is the car running badly. If so, there may be some other problem. Once home, you should get a repair manual. For affordable manuals, I like Haynes.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about 850s can help.
