2000 xc 70 226k no reverse all forward gears work fine fluid is good when I put it in reverse I can feel it go in but it won't move.

 

when you say "fluid is good" do you mean full or a good color (not black/burnt smell)?

Do the back up lights come on when you put it in reverse?

Three ways this can go - 1) you have a shifter issue, possibly in the PNP switch 2) you have a burnt transmission fluid/possible bits getting in the way of the solenoid valves. A drain/fill or flush may help or consider dropping the pan to inspect for loose bits 3) your transmission has internal damage and its time to replace the transmission or part out the car...
