2005 S40 T5 Auto Issues.
Please oh please may there be somebody here that could give me insight as I honestly feel like burning my car down.
As the name suggests, I have a 2005 Volvo S40 T5 FWD Au to and for the past 8 months or so have had nothing but trouble with this car.
One day it just refused to drive, shuddered, no power etc. Switched off the engine, switched it back on - drove a block, same issue...I eventually got the cat to a Volvo Authorised Service center. They ran diagnostic and told me it was the the MAF that was faulty. I gave the go ahead and they got a new part. Installed it and drove for about 100km. No issues, no errors on diagnostic all good. Then 2 weeks later I was on my way to the office and it happened again....pushed the car to a fueling station and phoned the service center. They sent a flatbed, diagnosed the car and same issue again. Had the car for a day, charged me for a "module" that had to be replaced and said they can't see anything ells as wrong. Cleared error codes, drove the car for 300km diagnosed - no issues. Got the car back. Drove for 4 weeks and when it was time for a normal service I took it to another service center (authorised) but the car starred acting up again with the same loss of power, timely jerk every now and then on the highway with all the dash lights flashing on and off once (really quickly) and so on. Got the car in for the service, asked them to diagnose, they came back with a same find MAF issue. Took it off, cleaned connectors with.a treat ment and I got the car back....drove 3 weeks and again they same issue, and same diagnostic.
Took the car to Volvo and asked thme to please check what was wrong as this was costing loads now for the same error to persist. They diagnosed, checked what they had to and told me hours later they cant see any issue as to why I keep getting this screwed up ride. They sent the ecu to a specialist who had it for 4 days and they sent it back saying all is fine, no errors found but my car still does it. But other days it drives fine again with no issues....
...please help me as nobody has been able too so far.
