I had the factory navigation with voice control added to my 2012 Volvo XC70 T6.

When I hit the voice command button and say a phone command, it says "No handset connected" even though the phone icon is showing on the screen at the top.

However I can use the steering wheel buttons to manually make a call.

I found that if I first go into navigation and click OK on the legal disclaimer, THEN I can use a voice command to make a call.

So if I am not using navigation... For each new trip I want to use the phone with voice commands, I must first go into navigation and click OK on the legal disclaimer.

Sounds like a software bug to me. Nothing about this in the manuals so far as the phone use is concerned. It is mentioned so far as using navigation is concerned.

Anyone know anything about this? Is this the way it works for navigation which was installed at the factory?
(Or you don't need to do that to use the phone with voice commands with factory installed navigation?)

 

The dealer said you should not have to go into navigation and click ok for the voice phone portion to work. They updated the map software and that fixed the problem...
