I just picked up a 2022 S60 Recharge with the HK audio system, it sounds like a base model AM radio.. I expected something with a little more presence but this sounds like a 1 speaker radio.. I've been through the settings with no real improvement, it's this typical of Volvo sound systems? For 2023 I was thinking of getting one with the B&W system but have heard it isn't much better. it's a lease car so aftermarket mods aren't an option, it's a third of the normal price to have the car so I figured why not, it's a bit disappointing.

 

My experiences with Volvo audio have been uniformly unimpressive.
Even after I broke down and admitted that I had significant hearing loss at upper frequencies and got hearing aids, I just don't think they are as good as they could/should be.
I am starting to believe that one could visit Crutchfield, or a similar retailer, and piece together a system that would sound better than the premium components that we get with "upgraded" sound systems. For much less.

The good thing, in my opinion, is that Volvo has resisted the trends to boost bass to the point where it obliterates everything else. (My wife's MDX was so bad I that I followed an Acura Forum post and stuck a towel in the sub enclosure - overall sound improved noticeably.)
