Hello, I had my '06 S60 at my third party repair shop for a 150K service, and I was asking my mechanic about the 4 cylinder engine now offered and he has heard numerous reports of high oil consumption and pistons and rings being replaced. Has anyone else heard similar or experienced these kinds of issues? Thanks.

 

Yeah some early ones needed rings. There's a bulletin for it.

 

But the issue has been corrected in the 2020 model?

 

Yes, it was corrected well before that.
