Anyone having CCM (Climate Control Module) issues?
I have a 2001 S40. I really loved my car initially, but since last year have had a run of terrible luck with it.
I had to have the CCM replaced in April 2005. Since then I have had problems with my AC, but the service department has not been able to replicate it.
My warranty for car ran out in March 2005, so I had to fork out $615.24 just 2 weeks after that (April 7, 2005), for the installation of this part. Sent car back to shop in August because the AC was shutting off ocassionally. Service unable to reproduce, and I've had back in shop 4 times since then for them to replicate.
I keep my control on "Auto", AC, 72 degrees. When the outside temperature is above 75...the AC will shut off completely, or blink back and forth between on and off on AC.
I just returned loaner car again because weather not cooperating here in Austin to try to reproduce the problem...have appt. to bring back April 11th.
I would love to hear if anyone else is having similar issue.

Try when you are going to be driving for a while. See if it starts blowing warm. Then pull over and see if the clutch on the compressor is turning.
If not then try to test for power to the compressor. If you have power then the compressor is bad.

Same problem with my 2002 S40. Sometimes air will blow hot when i need cool, sometimes vice-versa. Sometimes air will come out with a rush, sometimes not at all. I am heading to dealer today to have climate control motor replaced as they THINK that is problem. Thank God for extended warranties. BJ

I've got similar problems with my '01 S40. The AC light will go off and it will start blowing warm air. Also, My blower motor randonly changes speeds above the #2 setting. Anyone else dealing with that? I wonder if there could be a broken solder connection somewhere in the CCM or blower motor switch. I don't want to go tearing into anything until I at least have a good idea of where I should start. Im an ASE certified tech but our shops resources and experience with Volvos is limited at best.
