Buying my first Volvo
Trying to decide between the XC40 and XC60. I'll likely buy used, 1-2 years old. I really like the feature on a friends XC90 with the cooled seats. Can anyone tell me if that comes in the 40 and 60, and which year they added that feature?
My post from yesterday is gone!
Let me explain that I rent 90's and 60's 3 or 4 times a year and my dealer supplies me with one 2 or 3 times a year as a service loaner. All told, I bet I log 4 or 5 weeks of driving those cars a year.
Anyway,
bottom model cars are generally found with much fewer options than bigger models, Also, europeans tend to follow a strategy, the midsize models are their biggest sellers and as such get the best set of goodies, largest cars get everything they have to justify the big price increase for a car that is only slightly larger. As such, the 40 is a nice, basic, small car. you and or the wife should find it nice to tool around town in and get groceries. Nice work car. The 60's will make taking a few kids along much easier, also has luggage space and ride qualities that make it ok for the occasional trip to grandma's. The 90 will get you there in comfort, the kids, the dog and enough suitcases to carry you on a real family cross country vacation comfortably.
My opinion, as a Texan who loves cooled seats, is to not make that one feature a deal breaker. If this car is going to be personal transportation you may find a 90 just too big.
