Can I add certain electric accessories myself?
There are two things that I wish I had on my car, the inside rear view mirror with the integrated compass and the visor with Home Link. The dealership said that I can't have the compass because my car doesn't have the harness connection, and for the visor they're asking for $300. Is that true? Can't I, say find them in a junk yard and change them out myself?
Also, they said to upgrade my stereo from HU-650 to HU-850 it'd cost $3000, and I can't go aftermarket either because it'd mess up the computer network. Is that true too?

Motorcycle accessories are features and accessories selected by a motorcycle owner to enhance safety, performance, or comfort, and may include anything from mobile electronics to sidecars and trailers. An accessory may be added at the factory by the original equipment manufacturer or purchased and installed by the owner post-sale as after-market goods.
haquegiftshop, what does your answer have to do with anything the guy asked about ,,, over two years ago ??
In case you missed it, it's a forum for Volvo 850s, not motorcycles. You need to cut back on the eggnog and look at the question.
