Vibration on certain speed. S40,2001, 2.9 T
Hi Guys, does some one can tell me why I have this problem with vibration on my car. It vibrate at certain speed 80km/h and 130km/h more speed more vibration. but@ 100 or 90 km/h is OK, so I am confusing totally. Please help some one.[/align]
Also problem: I have some problem it looks the same. Volvo s40 2.9T, 2001. When I change the plugs and start the car I was shocked it works like old tractor and shaking vibration, smelly smoke from muffler, also I couldn't drive any where it not going just making clicking noise like some ting doesn't work.I am not professional but looks like ignition problem. Please guys could you help me with this, I will be very grateful. [&o]

I've just replied to the following post:

The engine may need software update for the ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
If you hear clicking from the engine, I wouldn't drive as the engine is probably knocking under load/ignition timing off, due to electronic control problems (you cannot adjust the ignition timing on many modern cars, as they are fully controlled by the ECU. The only way to change the ignition timing is to change the ECU with reprogrammed ECU, which may not be necessary unless you're into mods).
As my knowledge on the S40 is limited, see if other S40 owners or Moderator Tech can reply. Also, try doing in-forum research; the problem seems to be common and I assume there are some posts regarding the same issue.
