Default coil pack

I am new to Volvos, don't understand them much. Bought one last October with bad motor, had to replace motor, almost done, no leaks, runs, but must have a bad coil pack. I think had 2 bad ones, I replaced one, going to a junkyard to get a second one. My question is, they do not snap on like a normal spark plug wire on normal cars, is that normal?

what model and year? The coil packs vary - some models have one coil per plug others have one for two with a wire etc. I would recommend against getting a used coil pack - they generally start to fail after 100,000 or so miles and you don't want to start replacing one then another. Also, some models of Volvos are sensitive to plugs. If you are seeing a check engine light with 030x codes (misfires), I'd suggest changing out the plugs first (OEM for starters - the more expensive ones don't always work better).
