There should be an adjustment in the center console to adjust it.

Greetings,

First of all, please note that this part of the forum is "General Volvo Chat", and is rather gaunt. Also, even though a few members try their best to reply to questions asap, we cannot be here 24/7. I appreciate if you couldhave a little more patience.

I did some research for you, but could not find any exact procedure for S80's parking brake adjustment. I'll leave you with 850/S70(?) procedure, which is hopefully similar to S80. But note, that in the case of 850, adjusting the cable tension alone sometimes doesn't seem to work, in which case you have to adjust the "star" adjuster at each rear brake shoes inside the disks.

Your p-brake may be dirty or some parts, such as the cable may be rusted, so I would first visually inspect those parts, if you can.

I also did a research on service manual for S80, but they don't seem as readily available as 850:

http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/vol...ir_manual.html

Lastly, try posting the question in the S80 forum, you'll receive better replies than I could give you, as I'm not privy to S80.

Good luck,

JPN

I agree with JPN. When you posted your original I was on holiday and did not have time to read all posts when I came back.

Try this:

http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/cha...ghlight=ebrake

It is in the S60 forum but is the same procedure for the S80.
