Engine management light
Hi . Please go easy on me I'm new to all this . Well reading throu some of the posts on here about the ecu and management light I took the battery leads off - first and back on last . Anyway I took them off for 15 minutes and had the leads tied together for over the 3 minutes ppl have said . I connected it all back started the car and the light was out only for about 5/10 seconds then came back on . I only picked the car up on Saturday it's a 1999 v70 2.5 petrol manual . The bloke I got it from said the light had been on for a few years looking back throu the service notes it does say about it being on . I drove it back to Manchester from London no problems . The radiator has started to leak at the top near where the top hose goes . I put k-seal in yesterday and it stopped I took it out on a 15 minute drive tonight and its started leaking again any advice or tips will be great full many thanks

Get your radiator leak and coolant system properly checked out pronto.
Volvo's run at higher temperatures normally due to the coolant raising the boiling point above that of straight water, therefore the pressures imposed on the system are greater.
If you overcook the engine you can easily blow the head gasket, split the coolant reservoir or burst an aged coolant hose resulting in engine damage.
If your gauge goes into the red you have only seconds to stop before damage can occur.
Checkout the thermostat also.
