thinking of buying a volvo v70 20v turbo , only problem is the guy says the engine management ligh thas come on he says the car is stil l running fine ,should i be warey of this or is it a common fault thanks any info

 

It could be as simple as a loose gas cap or as major as a bad turbo or something like that.

Make him take and have the codes pulled so you know what is going on.

 

thanks for that he reckons he just started it up the other morning and it cameon and wont go out cheers again, i was reading another post and it says if u dsconect the bat and leave hen reconect it should go out is this true

 

It might work and it might not work. Depends on the code.

What year V70? Watch for the ETS (Electronic Throttle System) if it is a 1999.
