Hello, my son bought a 1998 V70 R. It's just about out of gas and the fuel door won't open. The fuel door switch is on the driver door. The strange thing is that the back hatch switch, right next to it, is working fine. Any ideas on how to open the fuel door?
(It minimum, we just need to open it once to fill the car up. Then we can figure out the door switch later)

Some cars have an emergency pull lever, a small wire with a loop on the end on it accessed from the taillamp bulb holder interior cover panel to manually release the gas door lock.

Thanks. That's what I ended up doing. We never found a cable or latch to release the fuel door--maybe it as broken at some point. But we were able to force the door open.
