Posted in the V90 forum & got no answers **** 1998 V90 wagon *** PLEASE HELP !! ... Wow ! This one is weird ! Starting having troubles with turn signals not working occasionally . Then car would not shift out of park unless transmission over ride in shift boot is pressed . Then the power windows , sunroof & transmission only operate when key is on. When car is started & running nothing works. . Fuses & relays are good . Please HELP !! Point me in the right direction !

 

Just a guess, but based on your symptoms, I'd suspect the electrical portion of the ignition switch. Not an uncommon failure on this vintage of volvo.

If you jiggle the key when key is in RUN position, and things start working, that would verify it..

 

Yes Sir ! Got an email from a guy in PA. yesterday suggesting same thing and that does do the trick to bypass the ghost for now. Going to look into new Ignition Switch...... Thanks !
