Give me some advice before I buy a used 2013 Volvo C70
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to buy a used car and I found one that I'm considering. It's a 2013 Volvo C70 with a 5-Cyl. 2.5L engine. The title status is salvage and the price is $13,000. I'm wondering if I should buy the car or not.
I'd like to hear from forum members who have experience with this model car. Are there any common issues that I should be aware of? Any advice on how to make sure that I'm getting a reliable car? Is the salvage title a concern?
I'm also wondering what kind of cost I should expect for maintenance and repairs. What can I do to make sure that I'm not spending a lot of money on repairs?
Thanks for your help. Any advice or opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Concerning the title; Well, yeah.
The car has sustained damage such that repair costs would exceed the value of the car.
Now, what kind of damage is thing. If it got flooded then run don't walk, away. Collision damage that didn't damage the frame, might be worth inspecting it closer. How many miles? The car is 10years old, in my experience, figure a $1000 year if you do minor repairs and let a shop handle bigger jobs. Thinking about it some, heavy hail damage could hit the 9,000 dollar trade in value, wouldn't by it self, bother me much. But Iwould expect a better price no matter how well it's been fixed.
That price puts it about just over the average price for a 2013 (IMHO). Looks like a dealer so he'll ignore the title and price it per a Blue Book. Bet it's got 120,000 miles. if so that could be gotten with a cleaner title.
Under the best circumstances, a 10 YO Volvo will not be trouble free but would be a nice car nonetheless. If it went for a swim or someone played demolition derby with it, it would be a nightmare.

Check the carfax report to see if you can determine the reason the car was declared a total loss. Water damage is the worst since all can look good but the electronics/connections can become corroded. Last thing is if you do a full inspect and decide its work making a bid, look around for similar cars nationally to get an understanding of the market value. My guess is it should be in the 30% less than KBB (ie a clean title 15K car would be worth 10-11K with a salvage title...)
