Help... LOL
Hello,
Thank goodness for a forum about volvo's. Here is my story..
1995 volvo 960 non turbo straight 6
#4 cylinder - have spark, fuel, but no compression.... Booooo
Im leaning towards a possible burt valve. Is there any other tests y'all can think of to determine any other options why it is not firing up... The compression test was my worst nightmare... I only paid 600 for it. has 117K and it is a smooth ride once you get over 35.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kyle

Have you done a wet compression test? (Spoonful of oil through the plug hole, measure the compression). If some compression is restored, then you have a burnt/holed piston (aaargh!). If the compression is unaffected, then you have a burnt/etc valve.
I must admit I haven't done this on a Volvo, but it's been useful on lesser cars in the past.
I found this description of compression testing:
