im going to go test drive a 2001 s40 volvo. I'm new to the scene ive done some research and it seems like that's a solid car to buy. im looking for reliablity. I've snooped around here for a little bit and i haven't found anything to dispute my opinion, yet. BUT! can you please let me know if there's something i should know about this specific model. I'm in college, i'm looking for a car that will last me for a while (5+years) with little to no problems besides general maintenance, naturally...thanks in advance

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the earlier S40 or V40. Too small and underpowered. I think Volvo addressed most of that with the newer body style ones. They do get exellent gas mileage and are reliable little cars. Those had 2 recalls..
