OK. This is a new on me. I have a 740 wagon non turbo. For some reason when I put the car in park the rpm gauge jumps to around 2000 & stays there. The car also seems to shift harder before or after this occurs & the idle speed @ a stop, while in drive, is around 1000 not the usual 800 or so. These 2 may or maynot be related. Any thoughts?

 

Has anyone touched the throttle body lately? Maybe the idle motor might be bad.
