Default I bought it!

I bought the 97' 850 R wagon. I am very happy with it.
It came with the rear facing third row folding seat. The hook that attaches the back of the seat to the back of the forward facing second row is broken. I went to the dealer and they wanted $250.00. Is there a cheaper way for me to fix this? The best idea I could come up with was a coat hanger.

Thanks for all of your help while deciding wether or not to buy the car.

Chet

Did they give you a part# of what they looked up?
If not try calling the Dealer with this part# and ask how much it is. 1399246 that is the part# for the locking assembly.

Thanks I will ask them, maybe it will be a little cheaper. What kind of tires do you recommend?

Default stereo

Thanks,
I love it so far. I do have a couple more questions. The stereo only works in the front four speakers, is this common? and ideas on a fix? or do I need to replace? Can I put a luggage rack on the top or did they not come with one? or would the roof rack be frowned upon?
Thanks again for the help

Nice, how about some pictures? Check any of your rear speakers to see if they're ok. One of my rear speakers weren't working and it was because the magnet had fallen off of the tweeter. But a roof rack? Go for it. I know once I get my wagon done I'm going to get a roof rack for it. I don't know why, but I feel like the roof rack gives it a little bit more of a Euro look.

I will snap some photos of it tomorrow and post them. its in pretty god shape except for the steering wheel where some of the leather has worn. I will check the speakers to see if thats it. The rear door speakers don't work either though so I think it may be the head unit. I would prefer to keep the stock one if possible though.

thanks,
Chet

Can't wait!

Are you saying that none of the rear speakers work or that only the ones in the doors don't work? It may be the head unit if none of your rear speakers or some faulty wiring somewhere. If it's just the rear door speakers, check to make sure that you have rear door speakers. I thought my rear speakers weren't working, and it turned out I didn't even have speakers in my doors.

Tech, any particular reason for this? Sorry for getting OT but I'm definitely curious.
