I have a Volvo 240DL, 1990, stick shift. At times the shift indicator light flashes constantly. At these times the car has less power and stalls and bucks when I slow down. Two mechanics haven't been able to find the problem. No one knows much about volvos where I live. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

When was the last tune up?

I am not privy to the 240 and can only guess it is related to:

- Ignition system
- Fuel system
- Induction system
- Electronic Engine Control

I would first check for trouble code; I believe your 240 has OBD-I fault code access terminal in the engine compartment? Try posting this in the 240 forum.
