install of new rotor
For some reason, I had first: No problem at all putting on a new left side rear rotor on my '93 940 wagon (T-2.3),
but the other side was well nigh impossible.
I'm diagnosing this as a rust issue, as removing the old one was also quite a dental extraction.
The rim the rotor is to fit over, in order to allow the caliper halves to meet has got a fair dose of rust on it.
In order to make a clean, even sand to remove it, will I:
have to suspend (jack stands plus 2 lifts) both rear wheels, put in reverse, so I can abrade to rust off evenly?
Or is there some other magic I can use (just sand it off as is, not worry about rotating it, because the rotor will be held evenly by the nut attachments to the tire....?
Thanks in advance
