Default Just bought a 2001 s60...probs all weekend...LEMON????????

I am just sick and wondering if I brought a lemon. Just bought a 2001 S60 for my son thinking I was buying something wonderful, but this weekend has made me rethink. The tail lights/brake lights went out, so we relplaced them...they blew immediately. Took it to a shop who replaced and said maybe a "relay" was bad and needed replacing. Left the shop with ALL lights working, but my son just came home and said the head lights are now out. Brights work..but headlights BOTH OUT! help...I sunk all my $$ into buying this car for him. plus...we need to replace all the belts soon according to the mechanic. the car has 114000...is it time for the belts to be replaced? If any one could help with the crazy light issue, I would appreciate it. I am sick to death inside thinking I just brought a piece of crap.

Did u check the bulbs for the regular lights. S60's are good reliable cars. I think it might be coincidense more than anything.

Default Thanks! Lighting probs fixed.

Hi. Thanks for reassuring me that this is a good car...never had a Volvo before, but always heard good things....just figured with my luck, we'd grabbed a lemon.

As it turns out, the lighting problems must have just been been a coincidence.....we replaced both front bulb...and are now good to go.

Next fix on the list....timing belts, etc.

Thanks again.

Timing belts are not a "fix" they are scheduled maintenance.
As for the bulbs, it's been my experience that when one goes, several follow, which makes sense, as they've all had much the same heat and vibration cycles.

Regards, Andrew.
