Default Location of Ignition Module ?

Hello Everyone, I signed up to help my folks with their classic Volvo..... Its actually a 1989 240 DL. They love their Volvo, and i will post pic's as soon as I take some with my camera. They bought the car used about 6 years ago, and been driving it happily !

recently they have been having a problem with the car stalling or not starting..... once in a while it will stall..... and even more rare it wont start...... but after waiting for a while after stalling, it all of a sudden decides to start ! then its fine for a couple days...... or if they go to start it, and it wont...... they try back in 30 minutes, and it starts !!LOL

My experience is that it sounds like an ignition module going out ? or maybe a crank position sensor ??

Anyway, I tried to search the forms here before typing this, but i may be a little challenged when it comes to searching the forms.

I was hoping that maybe someone here could maybe help me with where the location of the ignition module is ? I cant find the darn thing..... its not in the distributor , and its not in the obvious places in the engine comp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
