A few months ago my 1988 factory radio had a similar problem. Sadly the radio died.

If you cant find a way to make the radio work, you can replace the factory radio or buy another one from:

http://www.crutchfield.com/c_3/Car-Audio-Video.html.

If you choose to buy another radio, aftermakes purchased at crutchfield comes with a step by step guide to install a radio in that particular vehicle, a free dash kit and custom wiring harness. You can outfit your car and choose a radio yourself or call/chat with an advisor.

The anti-theft security code has been activated on the system from someone trying to enter the wrong code. See item 10:3 on this page. They usually all the same: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...99sv70_141.htm

Usually the code is written in the glove box door or on the radio itself. If you can't find it there, look in the owners manual booklet package, the card may be in there somewhere. If all else fails, call a dealer with the car vin, they can give you the correct code.

Sometimes the code can be reset from driving around, sometimes you actually have to have the car sit with the key in the II position.

Actually key in position 1 for 2 to 4 hours should reset it.
Some Dealers will have to stop by and show proof of owning the car before giving you the code.
