Default New Volvo Owner.... and my Volvo ALREADY saved me

Just thought I'd like to post how happy I am with the Volvo. I am 21 yrs old, and up until 2 weeks ago, have owned a Honda Civic for the past 5 years. When the engine on my honda finally gave out (about 4 weeks ago) I decided to purchase a "new" used car.

I have never been what I call a "car snob"..... partial to any particular make of car. I went to a car auction looking for a nice 4-door sedan to drive. Somehow, my father-in-law convinced me that my money would be better spent on a 2000 Volvo V-70 wagon. I wasn't looking for a station wagon and really didn't want one, but was convinced by the great exterior condition that the car was in.

I had my volvo for 2 weeks. During that two weeks, I fell in LOVE with it.... the way it drives, the gas mileage, etc etc. I raved to everyone how I got so lucky with this car. I put it in the shop and had all the fluids/filters/ etc changed and the air conditioner recharged.

On Friday (3 days ago and only 2 weeks after purchasing the car), I was t-boned on my drivers side door by a Mitsubishi sedan going approx 40-50mph. I was not wearing my seat belt as I was just crossing the road to go to a gas station from another parking lot. I walked away from the accident with only bruises.

Needless to say, I am now a Volvo owner for life!!! Had I been in my Honda, I would probably still be in the hospital, but my Volvo absolutely saved me from serious injury.

Default Volvo Tanks

My wife's friend on I-395 near Washington, DC @ nite, Buick Roadmaster 60+ MPH wrong way on freeway, no lights, she is in her V70, 60 MPH+, head on. Cars end up 6 feet apart after impact, drunk in Buick dies, mother & baby walk away! Thanks to Volvo. Her husband is an independent Volvo mechanic. You couldn't get them out of a Volvo!
