No revers gear on my 2000 Volvo v70
Got a 2000 Volvo v70 2.4 turbo wagon AWD
, currently having a well know issues lost revers gear, checked the trans fluid and it was not low not dirty very clean, every other gear works with no issue, thought maybe it was a neutral safety switch but my revers lights come on still might switch it out just in case, thought it also might be the b4 servo something but found out it only affects higher gears like down shifting and up shifting, now I’m thinking it may be my tcm, was gonna switch it out with one at pick n pull since they are not vin locked thank god, but there is also another option a tcm software update, rn I took a break on it I swear Volvos are like Volkswagens just complicated, if any one has any other ideas of we’re els to look or were to start I’d appreciate it, forgot to say sometimes and only sometimes if I put it in revers it will back up on its own with out hitting the gas, then it just acts like it’s in neutral, o yeah any other time revers just acts like neutral, only have one code is a Evap code. Something about my gas cap if I posted this on the wrong category sorry first time posted

If you can get your hands on the transmission wiring diagrams, try ohming out the transmission solenoids. I suspect you have an open coil in one. (It has been a few years; I don't remember which one, sorry.) They can be replaced without removing the transmission; you only need to drain the fluid and remove the pan for access.
