When I put my car into drive, often it will pause, then seem to jam into gear, and the car jerks. This happens when I start my car usually first thing in the morning, or after a long drive and it has been sitting. After I drive the car in the morning or after the long drive, the car does not slam into gear and runs smoothly. It also sometimes skips a little, from second to third I believe. Any ideas as to what this is, or what I should do?

 

Oh my, I had that problem with one other car I had. That's why Automatic transmitions scare me sometimes cause when stuff like that happens I know I'm in for a $$$ nightmare.

I hope I'm wrong bro, but your transmition seems to be going bad. Gears wore out, but it can last you somewhat longer. Then you gotta choose to either rebuild it (I recommend that option) or get a new/used one somewhere. Either way its no good and gonna cost you $$ in the future. But as I said, let's hope I'm wrong
