hi, i have an o2 sensor code. i think its loose wiring, but im not sure where the sensors are located on my 02 s80 t6. also there is some kind of groaning sound coming from the engine area on deceleration from around 4k rpms, and i dont kno if this could be because of the upper mount being practically non existant, or if it might be something in the trans... any help, as always, is appreciated.

 

sorry i meant 2001 s80 t6... i just traded an 02 s40 for it, i guess i had it on my mind....

 

I would say the sensor is bad. There usually isn't wiring trouble with the sensors.
I would replace the mount on the noise and see if that fixes it.

Your car has 4 O2 sensors total.

 

how do you kno which one is bad and needs replacing? the car runs really strong and has no trouble shifting in automatic or man so im not real worried about the trans or engine... it has 117k on the odometer, so i imagine it still has plenty of life left to live. the mount is only $70 at carquest. and the o2 sensors run from $80 to $180. so no biggie... thanks again.

 

The O2 codes should tell you which one you need Bank 1 or Bank 2 front or rear.

 

the reader at the parts store just brought up o2 sensor... didnt specify which one. does it have to be a dealer tool to pull the proper code?

 

It has to be a decent scanner that reads the system correctly.
