Hi,

I have a 2007 V70 with the std HU650 radio. Once in a while I hear this popping noise coming from behind me and it happened both when I was playing the radio or the CD player. It's not the crackling static sound but a series of erratic pops like somebody's clapping. I think it's coming from the rear left speaker on the door. Every time it occurs it pops 3 to 5 times in series for a few minutes and then it goes away. The dealership checked it but didn't find anything wrong. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

I would disconnect the speaker for a week. If you don't hear the sound, have the speaker replaced.
