Default question on TRAC OFF and ABS light

i've noticed lately every once in a while both my trac off and abs light will come on at the same time and stay on till i stop and park it and then start it back up and start to drive with it again.the traction control seems to work just as well on, as when it shows off and the brakes still pulsate like the abs kicking in when the light is on.
my question is is there a common wire that wears out or come loose regularly on these that would create this problem?
i know that all my rotors are about wore out and i have at least the top motor mount broken. would this effect this?
i plan on fixing both the above plus this winter after i park it on a month or 2 for the winter, i just want to make sure that this should fix it or if i need to look at something else.
i don't have alot of time to work on or even look at the car right now since im working 70 to 80 ours a week, but if i could limit down what i am possibly looking for that would help.
thanks in advance

Failing ABS module would be my guess.

would this cause both the abs and traction light to come on at the same time?
i forgot to mention this seems to happen after a hard acceleration, not from a dead stop but after i'm already moving at maybe 10 mph and punch the gas to 1/2 to 3/4 throttle

It can trigger one or both lights, typically there is a loose connection inside the module that triggers the lights and ultimately the failure of the unit. They are insanely expensive to repair if you take it to a shop or dealer. The good news is that there is a Volvo guy online who sells refurbished ABS modules very cheap. Check out www.midwest-abs.com he has them for your car as well as just about every other Volvo.

well not exactly what i was hoping to hear, however i checked out the site and your right his prices are good. i think as long as it keeps just being temperamental but everything keeps working for the next month or 2 i'll keep driving it periodically till i park it for the winter and order a replacement.
hopefully it at least gives me the next month of enjoyable top-down weather before it decides to completely die.
thanks for the response and the info

Yes, I've used Midwest ABS. The guy is good and has no problems answering questions.

Last month I had to replace this on my C70. ABS, CEL illuminated. Transmission in 'limp home' mode and speedometer/odometer working intermittently.

I paid $89 for a module. It arrived with the socket needed to remove it. I changed out the module (he has a how to video on his site), then shipped my old one and the socket back. Shipping was around $6.

If this is what you need, I'd recommend him.

Is your speedometer going in and out?

Are you also getting a Check Engine Light?

ill have to run the codes again, my cel light has been on for the last 1k miles for the air pump check valve(planning on replacing after i park it). im pretty sure my speedo is working right but ill keep a close eye on it if the lights come on as im driving it to work tonight. and definatally no limp mode on the tranny here it shifts just like it should with the lights on or off
