Default ABS/Trac off light???

Changed rear brakes on Saturday morning. Thanks to here and VolvoSpeed, went very well. I'm sure you mechanical types are very impressed. Anyway, on the way home from the office today my ABS and Trac off light just suddenly came on. Of course I have no idea what is going on. Car feels 100% the same. Brakes working same. Please someone give me a clue. Surely tech or another equally impressive data bank of knowledge person can help me out.

Thanks.

What do you guys think of the people on Ebay that are garages and tehy will rebuild the mdule, test it and tehn return to you for installation? They claim the codes do not need to be reset after the fix. Plus, how easy is it to get the module off and back on? I'd much rather spend around $100 rather than $700 to fix this problem.

Thanks again

Here is the scoop now. COme out today and the lights are no longer on. I tried to drive quick and hit brakes hard and the ABS is working fine. Is it possible when I changed my rear brakes that I may have caused an error to show up that fixed itself? Everythign is working fine, so I'm not messing with it. However, for future reference, would you still consider sending the ABS module to one of the places that advertises that they will fix it and send it back for installation over buying a new one?

Thanks.

Alot of the places that rebuild them have Really good luck fixing them.

The reason your lights come and go are because the unit shorts out sometimes and other times it doesn't.

It will cost you about $5.00 to $10.00 for the Set for the socket you need at an Auto Parts store to get the module off.

Is it turbo or Non-turbo?

It is a 1998 S70 T5. So you suggest going ahead and sending it off for repair? The ABS is working. You know your stuff though, so tell me what I need to do, and I'll do it. Thanks for your help.

You will need to get the socket for it. It looks like a Female torxes.
I think it is a E5 or E6.
Then remove the Air filter box. Then under the ABS pump you will see a Black Box. It has four screws going form the bottom up into the Alimunium. Undo the 2 plugs first. The Big one feel for a tab on the back side by the small plug. Push the Tab in and lift the outside cover of it to unlock the plug. Then remove the small plug.

Then remove the 4 screws and you will have the module in your hand.
