Default Rusty Battery Posts?

New car, new weirdness.

The manual says,
‘In very cold weather ... spray an anti-rust oil on the battery posts.’

Never heard of such a thing. Definitely interested, as I am headed into arctic conditions. At the ‘mart today, looked at every automotive fluid. Nearest candidate seemed to be a rust inhibitor variant of WD-40, for $12.

Question: Is this what those Swedes are on about?

anti corrosion fluid (usually red) to prevent the powdery corrosion build up, its not really rust though.

I usually apply petroleum jelly on battery posts. Or, your Water Displacement 40th Attempt, a.k.a WD-40, would do.

I do not believe Swedish people have peculiar affection for certain types of chemicals.
